Arrested for Picking Up a Rooster?

January 2nd, 2012

Danny Pham, a 36-year-old Lake Worth man, was arrested on Thursday for picking up a rooster at a post office. Pham is accused of violating his probation on February 2009 charges when he was arrested along with others attending a cockfight behind his home where more than 100 birds, including many dead roosters were confiscated at that time. The Boynton Beach Animal Control Officer Liz Roehrich informed the police of the pickup allegedly used for cockfighting and gambling purposes. Pham accepted a plea deal that included probation and a ban on contact with any animals, but he also had to pay for a national Humane Society reward offered to any neighbor who reported the fight. Do you think Pham violated probation, even if it’s a “cultural thing?” For more information go to .

Rothstein Back Stabs “Dear Friends”

January 1st, 2012

Scott Rothstein’s “rock-star lifestyle” consisted of VIP seating at Heat and Dolphins games, “joy rides” on private jets, black-tie charity events, and investments in strippers and hookers for himself and his “dear friends.” His never ending flow of money and extravagant lifestyle allegedly brought all of his “dear friends” along for the ride in his $1.4 billion fraud. Ratting out his “dear friends” during his 10 day sworn testimony this month, Rothstein has thrown some fierce accusations against more than a dozen people whom he said knew of his illegal doings and said nothing. Rothstein said he had no choice but to talk because federal prosecutors demanded he reveal everything in order to reduce his 50-year prison term. Two of his many “dear friends” he turned on were his law partners Rosenfeldt and Adler, but he helped other friends subvert the justice system. Other friends he ratted on were Ted Morse, Rothstein’s best man at his 2008 wedding and Howard Gruverman, head of Edify LLC, whom Rothstein said was doing “illegal stuff.” As for his law partners, Rothstein said they were his willing puppets who had no problem with him committing illegal deeds. As usual the attorneys for his two law partners, Gruverman, and Morse all denied the accusations and stick together in saying that the accusations are completely false. If Scott Rothstein really cared about his “dear friends” do you think he would have turned them in? For more information go to

Mother Gets Permission to Visit Children

December 29th, 2011

Kenia Bosque, a mother who faces charges of trying to sell her baby, was told Tuesday from Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Michael Hanzman that she would be permitted two-hour visits three times a week with her children.
The Florida Department of Children and Families will supervise the first visit on Wednesday. Since December 4th, when she was arrested, Bosque has not seen her children. The mother allegedly offered her youngest son to an acquaintance from Monroe County for $7,000 in cash, but the acquaintance then tipped off the police. Even though Bosque didn’t show up to complete the deal on December 3rd the authorities still had enough evidence in recorded phone conversations to make the arrest. Records show that her Op-locka landlord had started the eviction process prior to her arrest. Bosque has pleaded not guilty and was released last week on a $25,000 bond that she borrowed to pay her bail and is living in Hialeah with friends while she is looking for work. Her arraignment in this criminal case will be on January 6th and her separate custody case will be set two days later. Do you think Bosque is innocent? For more information go to .

Crippled Man Uses Crutches to Fend off “Robbers”

December 29th, 2011

Hobbling along Hollywood Boulevard, William Joseph Knowles fended off two alleged would-be-robbers trying to steal his wallet, one wearing a bikini, with his crutches. The 59 year old said that the crutches came in handy and called the incident “a first.” He never would have believed that two young girls would attack someone. The two “young girls” of Hollywood, Amber Lynn McKay,22, and Veronica Anne Lane,21, were charged with robbery. The officer that Knowles flagged down caught the suspects after an employee of a nearby hotel told the officer the two women who matched Knowles’ description were staying there. The victim later identified McKay and Lane as the “robbers.” The two women were in the Broward County jail Tuesday with Lane’s bond set at $7,500, and McKay was being held without a bond on a violation of probation. Thankfully, Knowles injured shin was not hurt during the incident. Do you think Lane and McKay are innocent? For more information go to .

More Broward Police Officers Charged with Crimes

December 27th, 2011

Shocked as the verdicts were read, Jean Paul Jacobi, a now former Miramar Police Officer was guilty of official misconduct, criminal mischief, and falsifying records related to an illegal search of a marijuana grow house in 2010 at the end of his criminal trial on December 19th. That case was the second conviction of a police officer this month after another jury found Dewey Pressley, a former Hollywood Police Officer, guilty of falsifying records in a DUI and crash investigation on December 6th. More police officers are expected to find themselves in the defense chair net year according to the Broward County State Attorney’s Office. Recently a half-dozen detention deputies were ensnared in an investigation into contraband smuggling at the county’s Main jail. Sheriff Al Lamberti said that, “We are not above the law. We need to live at a higher standard,” and has started the investigations to hold deputies accountable for their wrongdoings instead of allowing them to resign without holding them responsible for their corruption. Do you think Sheriff Al Lamberti’s plan will work? For more information go to .

Rothstein Rats Out More “Schemers”

December 26th, 2011

Rothstein has more people to snitch on after his lengthy confession yesterday. The convicted fraudster said he stashed up to $1 million in cash in his law office so he could keep his criminal acts alive. The Ponzi schemer claims that, “We were handing out money like Santa Claus hands out candy canes to anybody that needed it for our purposes.” While in the middle of a 10-day deposition session behind closed doors, Rothstein said that he paid off former TD Bank executive Frank Spinosa and without his help and two other bank officials the fraud would have died. Investors who lost millions are suing TD Bank and Gibraltar Bank because they believe the banks employees allowed Rothstein’s scam to continue. Spinosa and his attorney deny the allegations just like everyone else Rothstein spilled on and believe he is only doing this so he can shorten his prison time. Do you think Spinosa is innocent? Rothstein Snitches on Former Law Partners

December 23rd, 2011

Scott Rothstein, a convicted Ponzi schemer who committed the largest financial fraud in South Florida history, just announced that two of his former law partners knew he was illegally moving money through the firm and did nothing to stop him. Right before the holidays, Rothstein decided to not only throw attorneys Stuart Rosenfeldt and Russell Adler under the bus, but he also ratted on seven other attorneys inside and outside his firm such as Ken Padowitz, Steve Rossi, Howard Herskowitz, Doug Bates, and Wayne Koppel who “allegedly” helped keep the Ponzi scheme alive. Accusing people inside the firm who knew of his illegal activities, Rothstein said that attorneys David Boden and Steven Lippman, his former chief financial officer Irene Stay, his former chief operating officer Debra Villegas, his uncle Bill Boockvor, computer technicians Curtis Renie and Bill Corte, office staff members Marybeth Feiss and Amy Howard, and two paralegals did nothing to stop him. Villegas, Renie and Corte have all been sentenced for their roles in the scheme. Because Rothstein opened up about his criminal deeds, Feiss and Boockvor were criminally charged this month. Since he has nothing better to do than wait out his 50-year prison sentence, Rothstein has made sworn statements that offer his first detailed account of the $1.4 billion criminal acts. However, the two former partners denied the allegations and pointed out that he is a con man trying to reduce his prison time. Do you think he should snitch on people supposedly involved in his Ponzi scheme? Wasserman-Rubin Rejects Plea Offer

December 23rd, 2011

Rejecting a plea offer, former Broward County Commissioner Diana Wasserman-Rubin could have spent eight years in prison. A current citizen of Weston, Wasserman-Rubin is accused of getting kick-backs for voting for Southwest Ranches town grant applications her husband wrote and now faces five felony counts of unlawful compensation. Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Spencer Eig is dealing with this case to avoid any partiality the Broward judges may have toward Rubin. Judge Eig rejected their request to dismiss criminal charges against Rubin. The trial is scheduled to start on May 14, 2012. Both Wasserman-Rubin and her lawyer agree that she did not commit a crime and are willing to call her husband who is serving a federal prison sentence for tax evasion to testify on her behalf. “Toxic Tush”

December 22nd, 2011

In the Miami-Dade Circuit Court, Oneal Ron Morris and Corey Alexander Eubank pleaded not guilty to second-degree felony charges. The two were arraigned Monday and charged with practicing medicine without a license. Two victims came forward and accused them of injecting a toxic mixture of “Fix-a-Flat” and superglue to enhance their backsides. Both accused persons were released after posting bonds. Oneal Ron Morris, also known as the “Duchess”, has allegedly duped women into paying for six injections of a near-lethal formula of chemicals administered through a tube hooked to a cooler while Eubank coordinated the meetings between the victims and Morris. The authorities believe the two are a part of and underground network of scam artists who have been offering “pumping parties” and home buttocks augmentations for years. In some cases these “parties” have only caused flu-like symptoms and welts on the victims backsides, however some end fatally. The two victims thankfully recovered after serious medical attention. This is not the first time Morris has been in trouble; she is not a doctor which she claimed to be and she has a long arrest record for using phony identification, writing bad checks, and theft. Do you think Morris and Eubank are innocent? For more information go to http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/local/breakingnews/mh-toxic-tush-court-20111220,0,4882015.story.
